There's nothing like a Kismet moment. Being in the right place at the right time, and everything just comes together.

In 2011 I was asked to be the Lifestylist® for the New American Home at the International Builders Show. The home featured Thermador appliances, and the Brand Manager was someone that I had done volunteer work with for NAHB in the past and adored, and while we were celebrating the success fo the home and show he asked me if I would be willing to give him some feedback on Thermador. Anyone who knows me knows that I have an opinion and I'm not shy about telling the truth. It was a perfect fit for both of us, and I continue to share my feedback with the today.

Being able to get "behind the curtain" and to know the people, products, and culture of this brand has allowed me to fall in love with everything they are about. They are wonderful listeners, and the evolution of their products every year shows that. in 2011 they were a luxury brand with a name some knew (they are a 100 year old company!) but now they dominate that market and are the luxury brand that consumers are insisting upon.

Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be so passionate about refrigeration, but now that's become a huge focus for The Lifestylist Brands. Having the right culinary preservation columns can make all of the difference when you like to eat fresh, locally sourced food. Being able to control the temperature and humidity can be the difference between having fresh leafy greens that last a day or a week, and now that I'm adopting more of a vegetarian lifestyle being able to keep my dairy products at the right temperature is making all of the difference. I've taken advantage of this in my own home, and the only thing that's missing is a wine column (or two!) So far we have the winning bid, but all of the profits from this auction and the event will go to fund scholarships for women studying in the culinary fields.
